A solar eclipse occurs when the moon comes in the orbit between the sun and the Earth and appears to cast a shadow on the sun.A partial Solar eclipse is set to occur on February 15, which will be visible in certain paths of southern hemisphere . This celestial phenomenon can be seen over Antarctica, southern parts of Atlantic ocean and southern south America. India will not get to witness this partial solar eclipse. There is another solar eclipse on August 11,2018 but that too will not be visible in India.
The year will see two partial solar eclipses which are expected for July 13 and August 11 respectively. On July 13,the sun would appear crescent-shaped over Australia and Antarctica, while the August 11 will play over the North pole,northern Europe,and parts of northern and eastern Asia.
